ACARD's New DDR2 Dynamic SSD Uses Less Energy, Gives More Performance
--- Provides the best choice for high speed storage in enterprise databases, enthusiast overclocking and industrial environments

(July 1 2008, Taipei) – ACARD Technology Corp. has announced plans to release the ANS-9010/ANS-9010B Dynamic SSD in August, a move that will set new records for high speed storage. Made up of 6~8 DDR2 DIMM and 1 CF slots packaged as a small capacity, high-speed SATA HDD device, the ANS-9010/ANS-9010B Dynamic SSD offers the following features:
  • LED status lights that indicate the power, memory, lithium battery capacity, SATAdevice and backup status.
  • 1~2 SATA ports
  • Plug and play installation in the host computer. No drivers required.
  • 1 CF slot and bi-directional backup key
  • Supports up to 48~64GB of memory
  • Supports DDR2 400/533/667/800
  • Built in 7.4V 2400mAh lithium battery to allow for complete backups
  • Supported operating systems include Windows, Linux and Mac
  • Data transfer rates of 200MB or 400MB per second
These specifications make this product an excellent choice for applications such as graphical design, industrial design, medical devices, computer gaming, server database and Mac system-based publishing and printing.

The use of DDR2 RAM in the Dynamic SSD offers many advantages, including faster speeds and lower power consumption. When connected to the host computer through two SATA interfaces, the transfer rates can reach 400MB/sec. In addition to the high data transfer speeds, this device also includes a CF card backup slot. Users can therefore backup their data to the CF card before shutting down the machine then load it back to the Dynamic SSD when they next use the computer. This feature means that data don't always have to be backed up to the host computer and the user can take it with them at any time. The built-in lithium battery also allows data in the Dynamic SSD to be automatically backed up to the CF card in the event of an unexpected power loss, preserving important data. The user interface is designed for ease of use. Device status information such as power, data transfer and lithium battery capacity can all be determined through the LED status lights. Research data indicates that for software engineers, most of their time is not spent on writing programs but on waiting for routines to be executed in virtual programs. This product will help shorten waiting times.
The following benchmark shows that the ANS-9010 achieves read speeds of approximately 350.04MB/sec.The following benchmark shows that the ANS-9010 achieves write speeds of approximately 287.55MB/sec.
